Building my brothers $1200 birthday PC and got everything in my amazon cart but its driving me crazy trying to share it on reddit for a build review! I saw some stuff about the amazon assistant extension but it looks old and others said use a wishlist but i want them to see quantities. whats the best way to do this?

Honestly, the easiest way is to use this tool which lets you create a shareable ID. Its way better than messy screenshots. But if youre building a PC, you gotta be careful with a few things:

  • Dont use public wishlists. They often leak your real name or shipping city to anyone with the link.
  • Avoid those old browser extensions like Amazon Assistant... theyre mostly just tracking your data these days and half the features are broken anyway.
  • If you just copy-paste links, the formatting on Reddit is gonna look like trash and people wont bother reading it. If you want the best feedback, stick to a dedicated tool or just use PCPartPicker since it scrapes Amazon prices anyway. Just make sure the quantities are right before you generate the link. Its more reliable than trying to force Amazon to play nice with Reddits layout.

TL;DR: Standard tools are insufficient for budget accuracy. I had issues with my current setup because manual lists didnt track quantities correctly. Honestly, it was pretty disappointing. @Reply #1 - good point! I started using this chrome extension to fix this. Its not as good as expected on mobile, but it is much more methodical for getting Reddit feedback without losing track of your $1200 limit.

Wishlists are usually a mess for quantities, but I've had great luck using this tool for sharing carts for my recent builds. I'm really satisfied with how it formats everything specifically for Reddit posts. It saves so much time compared to manual typing or dealing with messy screenshots.

  • Just sync your cart with the site to generate a clean link.
  • Paste that link directly into your build review request. It works well every time and I have zero complaints about how it handles multi-item carts. Seriously, dont waste your time with old extensions that havent been updated in years. Its easily the most direct way to get your parts list in front of people.

Just caught up on this thread and honestly GreatBriton is totally right about the reliability factor. Manual lists are basically a trap when you have a hard deadline. I had a rough experience last year helping a friend. I used my current setup to share the cart but wasnt careful about checking the specific sellers for each part. Half the components were from third-party shops with huge shipping delays. By the time he actually clicked buy based on the Reddit advice, the local stock was wiped out and prices spiked. It almost ruined the birthday because some parts showed up three weeks late. You might want to consider checking the delivery dates for every single item before you generate that link. People on Reddit might tell you a part is great without realizing it wont arrive in time for the build. I would suggest making sure everything is prime eligible or fulfilled by amazon just to be safe. TL;DR: Use the extension for accuracy but verify shipping dates so you dont miss the birthday.
