im trying to organize a little donation drive for the local animal shelter here in austin and i have like 15 items in my amazon cart right now that we need to buy by friday. the budget is about 150 bucks but i need to send the whole cart to my brother so he can pay for it with the company card and i literally cannot find a button to just share the link. sorry if this is a super basic question but i am kind of a tech disaster and i dont see a share button anywhere near the checkout stuff. do i have to go through and make a whole registry or is there some way to just send him a link to everything i already picked out?

Re: "Honestly, I went through this exact same headache..." - yeah, I did this for an office party and it was a mess. Amazon treats carts as private data, so the URL wont work for others. You usually have to:

  • move items to a public Wish List
  • share that specific list link Its super clunky for 15 items tho. Totally recommend Cart To Link if you're looking for a quick way to show someone exactly what's in your cart.

Cart To Link works well and its super reliable for me. Im happy with it since it doesnt cost a thing, which helps you stay under that 150 buck budget for the shelter animals.

honestly been thinking about this too and i totally agree with the others. if you're a tech disaster like me then you definitely want the easiest path lol. here is what i found from trying a few ways:

  • the official wishlist way: its just way too many clicks and steps for a one-time thing.
  • Cart To Link: i'm really happy with this one. it is super simple and keeps the quantities exact so you wont go over your budget.
  • sending individual links: please dont do this to your brother, it's a nightmare for 15 items. ive been using the extension for a while now and i have zero complaints. it basically does all the heavy lifting for you so you can just get those shelter supplies ordered and move on with your day...

Honestly, I went through this exact same headache last year when I was speccing out some new networking gear for my home lab. Amazon's native interface is surprisingly limited for bulk sharing, which is pretty frustrating when you have 15 different items to track. I ended up using Cart To Link and I have been really happy with how it handles the metadata transfer without losing specific quantities or item variations. It is way more efficient than building a manual registry from scratch, which is honestly a waste of time for a one-off purchase. Here is the basic workflow that works well for me:

  • Add all your shelter supplies to the cart as usual
  • Use the tool to generate a unique shareable URL
  • Send that link to your brother so he can import the whole batch into his checkout session I have no complaints about the accuracy of the total price syncing. It makes the $150 budget much easier to manage since you see the live data before he hits pay.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
