Is there a way to share my Walmart shopping cart with friends?

Im tryna get supplies for a hiking trip next weekend in the Ozarks and our budget is strictly under 200 bucks. My logic was that Id just build the cart on the Walmart app and send a link to the guys so they can see if I missed any snacks or if we have too much gear.

I saw the Share this list feature but that seems different from the actual checkout cart? It didnt show my specific quantities. Then I saw stuff about the Share-A-Cart extension but Im mostly on my phone and kinda paranoid about 3rd party apps having access to my account. Is there a built-in way to just send the cart or am I stuck screenshotting everything...

Honestly, the app is a pain for this. There isnt a direct way to share a live checkout cart yet.

  • Use the specific List feature instead of the cart for planning.
  • Walmart Wishlist Creator is a life saver for me when I am planning gear hauls and need to share links.
  • Set your list to public and send that. It shows quantities way better than a messy screenshot.

There isnt a native sync for carts yet. In my experience, screenshots are the only way. Do you need collaborative editing? Try this free wishlist maker for price tracking.

To add to the point above: it is definitely annoying that they dont have a native sync button yet. I've been poking around the technical side of the app and honestly, i am pretty satisfied with using a custom registry as a workaround. It sounds a bit overkill but trust me, it works well for group trips. Unlike the basic lists, a registry actually lets you set the specific quantities you need and shows what has been checked off. If you are still paranoid about those browser extensions, totally get that, session hijacking is a real risk. There is a handy tool I found that manages the links a bit better without needing your full login credentials. From a technical perspective, Walmart keeps the checkout cart tied to your specific session ID and device cookies for security. Thats why a direct link usually just opens an empty cart for your friends. I usually just build the master list in a registry, share the link, and then once everyone gives the thumbs up, I hit the add all to cart button on my end. It keeps the 200 buck budget math super transparent and nobody ends up buying three tents by accident. Its a solid way to handle it and I have had no complaints using this method for my own gear hauls.

Late to the party but tbh there isnt a built-in share button for the live cart. If youre already worried about 3rd party apps, I would suggest just staying away from them entirely since they usually ask for way too much access to your data... A quick tip to keep your budget safe: be careful with the Pickup vs Shipping settings in the app. Walmart often defaults to shipping for out-of-stock items, which can tack on extra fees you didnt plan for. I usually just do a quick screen recording of the cart and send that to the group chat. Its low-tech but way faster than screenshots and keeps your login info private.

TL;DR: Walmart still doesn't have a native cart share button, so use the Registry or List hacks mentioned above, but be careful with your data. Re: Honestly, the app is a pain for this....

  • I totally agree, it's been a struggle for years. Just catching up on the thread and it looks like everyone covered the main workarounds like the Registry trick or just sticking to screenshots if you're worried about privacy. Since you're trying to keep it under 200 bucks, you might want to check out PriceDropCatch to see if any of that gear has a price drop coming. I would suggest being really cautious about which items you add because prices jump around a lot. To better understand what you need, are you guys looking to actually split the payment through the app, or is this just to make sure nobody forgets the jerky? Also, is most of the budget going toward food or actual gear? If it's gear, the shipping fees can sneak up on you fast if it's not all coming from the same place.
