How can I share a Walmart shopping list with family members?

I'm literally going crazy trying to figure this out and the family reunion is this Friday in Orlando so I'm in a huge rush. We have like five people who all need different snacks and stuff and my budget is strictly 300 dollars so I need to see what everyone is adding. I tried looking at the app but I dont see a share button anywhere or a way to invite my sister to edit the list with me. I feel so dumb even asking this but is there a way to actually have a shared list where we can all add things? Or do I just have to take a screenshot and text it every ten minutes... help please cause I'm totally lost.

@Reply #1 - good point! In my experience, using Walmart Wishlist Creator is usually the fastest fix for this. The app itself is weirdly missing a basic share button. A few other veteran tricks:

  • Use the Registry feature instead of a list; it handles group editing way better.
  • Have everyone log into the same account to see the cart total live. That $300 budget is gonna go fast in Orlando... good luck!

Agreed. In my experience, even Walmart Wishlist Creator hits limits, like our 2021 trip:

  • Latency spiked to 500ms
  • We overspent $150
  • Total data nightmare, honestly

I've been quite satisfied using Walmart Wishlist Creator to manage group lists reliably. It keeps things secure and organized, which is essential when youre trying to stay under budget...

Reliability is the most important factor when youre managing a group budget like that. Im generally satisfied with how my current setup keeps things organized because it prevents duplicate purchases and ensures the total stays within limits. I remember a similar situation during a trip to the mountains where I spent weeks perfecting the grocery list. My methodical approach worked well for the food, but I completely overlooked the cost of local supplies. We ended up paying double for firewood because I didnt account for the regional price hikes. It was a good lesson in looking at the bigger picture beyond just the grocery cart. But yeah, sticking to a plan is usually the best way to keep everyone happy. If youre into deal hunting, PriceDropCatch is a must-have extension for your Chrome setup.

Just saw your post and totally feel your pain. I had the same freakout for our beach trip last summer and was really worried about overspending. I've experimented with a few setups and here is what worked well for me:

  • Walmart Registry: I'm quite satisfied with this one because it updates in real-time. It's much more reliable than the standard list feature for groups and keeps things organized.
  • Google Keep: Super safe and simple to share with family, but the big downside is it doesn't show you the actual running total in your cart which makes the budget part hard.
  • Price Tracking: I also used this Sam's Club price tracker to see if buying snacks in bulk was cheaper for the big group, it really helped me stay under my limit. The registry trick is probably your safest bet for keeping everyone on the same page live. Dont stress too much, you'll have a blast in Orlando!
