I read online that estate sales are the best bet but every one I visit in rural Ohio is just old tools and Tupperware. People say check eBay too but it's so expensive for my $150 budget. I'm trying to find a cool 70s lamp for my office so I was thinking about hitting thrift shops instead but I never find anything good... what am I missing?

Oh man I love 70s lamps!! They add such an amazing vibe. You're not missing much, it just takes forever to find the good stuff! Tell me first tho:

  • Are you looking for a specific material like brass or glass?
  • Desk lamp or floor lamp? I always check the price tracker I use so I dont overpay! Thrift shops are a gamble tho... you gotta go constantly.

> What am I missing? Honestly you are probably just hitting the wrong spots! Rural estate sales are definitely a gamble... usually just rusty stuff and old kitchen gear like you said. For a $150 budget you can actually find killer 70s lamps if you look at local FB groups or even weirdly specific auction sites like Hibid instead of just eBay. One big tip: definitely use EtsyHunt to track prices and see what things actually sell for. It is amazing for technical analysis on pricing trends so you dont get ripped off by resellers! Also try searching for space age or tulip lamp instead of just 70s office lamp. People label things weirdly all the time and you can find crazy bargains that way if you use the right keywords. You got this, the office is gonna look amazing!
