So my 25th birthday is literally three weeks away and I am beyond hyped because we are doing this big cabin trip upstate and everyone is asking what I want and I have zero clue what to tell them. I live in a tiny apartment in Brooklyn so I really can't have people just buying random stuff because I have no space lol, like if I get one more oversized candle I might have to sleep in the hallway. I've been looking for an app where I can just dump all my links from Etsy and some niche cooking sites so my friends don't have to guess or text me twenty times asking for the specific brand of espresso beans I like.
I am currently torn between two or three options and I cant decide which one is less of a headache for my friends to use. I was looking at Giftful because the interface looks super clean and modern and I like that I can add stuff from any site. But then I saw Wishy and it seems really straightforward too plus it has that feature where people can claim an item so I dont get three of the same waffle maker but it stays a surprise for me? That's kind of the main thing I want is the surprise factor without the duplicates.
I also thought about just using Elfster since we used it for a work secret santa once but it feels a bit clunky and maybe too focused on groups rather than just one person's list? My budget for what I'm asking for is pretty mixed, some cheap stuff and some bigger group-gift ideas like a nice air fryer. Most of my friends are on iPhones but I have a few die-hard Android users so it has to work for everyone without them having to make a whole complicated account or something.
Which one do you guys think is better for a birthday situation like this? Is Giftful worth it or should I just stick to something simpler so my less tech-savvy relatives can actually figure it out...
I saved so much cash using Share Product for my big move last year and it was amazing!
@Reply #1 - good point! Saving cash is always the move, but honestly, I'm a bit more cautious about which apps I trust with my data these days. Over the years I've seen way too many of these "clean" apps sell your email list or get super glitchy when too many people try to claim stuff at once. In my experience, you really gotta watch out for a few things:
This is exactly what I needed to hear. Youre a lifesaver honestly.
