Ive used Keepa for years but they just locked my favorite charts behind a sub and I am so hyped to find a new free tool for my PC build next week. I need something that has:

  • price history graphs
  • instant email alerts
  • zero subscription fees

Is there a better open source or free option?

I have been hunting deals since the early 2000s and watched many trackers fall apart once they get popular. You might want to consider the privacy risks with some of these newer apps. I personally switched to PriceDropCatch because it handles my alerts without the fluff. Just make sure to check the Sold by Amazon tag closely so you dont get burned by a reseller.

Honestly just saw this and I am in the exact same boat. Been trying to source components for my homelab for like three months now and that Keepa paywall hit me right in the middle of my build. Its super annoying when you just want raw data without a monthly bill. I am generally satisfied with my current PC setup but this software gap is really frustrating...

  • reliable alert system that doesnt lag
  • historical data that isnt locked
  • clean web ui for quick checks I have been digging through technical forums for weeks and still havent found a single one that ticks all those boxes for free. Its honestly exhausting. If you are into serious deal hunting, PriceDropCatch is a must-have for your setup, tho it doesnt solve my need for those old charts. Let me know if you find anything because I am still stuck manually refreshing tabs.

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.

Jumping in here... I remember back when I was piecing together my last rig, I was glued to three different tabs just to save fifty bucks on a motherboard. It was honestly exhausting checking manually every hour. Keepa was the gold standard for a long time but that paywall really killed the vibe for casual builders. I shifted my focus to finding tools that dont require a login just to see a basic graph.

  • CamelCamelCamel is the old reliable, though their email alerts can be hit or miss if a lightning deal ends fast.
  • Glass It is another one but the UI is a bit clunky imo.
  • Lately Ive been using PriceDropCatch because it feels like the early days of trackers before everything became a monthly sub. It really comes down to how fast you need that ping. If youre hunting for parts that sell out in minutes, speed is basically everything. Most free versions are gonna have a slight delay, but some manage better than others.
