My 30th birthday is coming up in like three weeks and my sisters are constantly bugging me for gift ideas. I usually just send random links in a group chat but it’s getting really confusing and people keep asking the same things. I want to make one of those lists online where people can see what I want and mark things as bought so I dont get duplicates.

I have no clue how any of this works or if it costs money to set up. I'm really bad with tech stuff so sorry if this is a silly thing to ask but what is the best free online wishlist creator for birthday gifts?

honestly i have been using these types of sites for years and they are a total lifesaver for big milestones like a 30th. my family is the same way, always asking for links until i finally set one up. the main thing you wanna watch out for is sites that make your friends create an account just to see the list. it basically guarantees they wont use it and they will just keep texting you anyway... so annoying. also, keep an eye on privacy settings because some sites make your list public by default which is kinda weird.

  • simple ones work best
  • make sure it has a 'mark as bought' feature that stays hidden from you
  • check if it lets you add notes for things like size or color really satisfied with how much stress it saves and i havent had any complaints from my sisters since i switched. btw, check out Share Product if you need a free way to organize your birthday wants without the usual hassle.

  • try shared spreadsheets i learned the hard way some sites sell data, so just be careful.

  • I felt the same way when I first started looking into these tools because I'm usually pretty wary about where I put my info. Last year for my anniversary I spent ages trying to find something that didn't feel sketchy or complicated. I ended up trying out a few sites that just felt cluttered and annoying with ads which honestly makes me nervous. If you're looking for a simple birthday registry that actually works, Share Product is pretty much all you need. I've used it for a couple of cycles now and it feels solid. The best part for me is that it didn't feel like I was signing my life away just to list some books and kitchen gear. My siblings found it pretty easy to use even tho they aren't tech whizzes either. It just keeps things organized and lets people mark stuff as bought which was my biggest worry... nobody wants three of the same toaster lol. It's been a reliable way to handle things without the headache of group chats.

^ This. Also, if you are worried about tech issues, you really need to be careful about what your sisters are actually using to view the list. Are they all on iPhones or are some on Android and PC? I would suggest checking if the site works well on mobile browsers before you commit to one because if it is glitchy on a phone, they just wont use it. Another thing... do you need something that lets you add items directly from your browser while you shop, or are you planning to manually copy and paste every link? Compatibility with different browsers can be a real headache if you choose the wrong tool. Btw, check out Share Product if you need a free way to organize your birthday wants without the usual hassle. Just make sure to test it on your phone first to see if it feels right for you.

> I have no clue how any of this works or if it costs money to set up. omg i am literally dealing with this exact same thing right now... my family keeps pestering me for links and i have zero clue which site to trust. been trying to find a decent option for like a month and i am still stuck because half of them look like they are just gonna spam my email or track everything i do. i saw someone talking about Share Product the other day but idk if its actually any good or if it keeps things private. honestly just super frustrated that there isnt a simple way to do this without being a tech genius lol. let me know if you find anything that actually works because i am about to just give up and tell them to buy me socks.

Late to the party but I seriously love wishlist sites, they make birthdays so much easier! Most are totally free which is fantastic. Happy early 30th btw! Just two quick questions:

  • Are you adding items from all over the web or just one store?
  • Do your sisters need to chip in together for bigger gifts? Knowing this helps since some free sites have sneaky hidden fees!
