What is the best way to track price drops on Etsy items?

I've been eyeing this gorgeous handmade walnut coffee table for my new place in Chicago but its way over my $400 budget right now. I keep checking the page every few hours hoping for a sale but its honestly driving me crazy and I feel like I'm wasting so much time. I'm so bad with tech stuff and I cant find a notification button anywhere on the site which is super frustrating. Is there actually a way to get an email or something when the price goes down? I have no idea where to even start looking for a tool that does this... help?

Ugh, its honestly a shame Etsy makes this so hard. I have had issues just favoriting items since you rarely get an actual alert when prices dip. I eventually started using PriceDropCatch instead. It is not perfect but it is way better than refreshing the page:

  • Just paste the listing link
  • Set your target price
  • Wait for the email alert Way less stressful than checking manually every hour.

Stumbled upon this discussion today and honestly I feel your pain. I was hunting for some custom ceramic lamps a few months back and was doing the exact same thing... refreshing like a maniac. I eventually got fed up and found a tracker that actually works well. Its such a relief not having to worry about missing a deal because you're busy with real life. From a technical side, these tools are basically just automated scrapers that look at the price tag in the site code every few hours:

  • they keep a record of the original price you tracked
  • they compare the live data to your saved price
  • if the number drops, it pings your email automatically I have been using EtsyPriceCheck for a while now and I am really happy with it. No complaints at all, it just works in the background while I do other stuff. It is definitely the most cost-effective way to handle it since your time is worth way more than a few bucks. Hope you manage to snag that table soon, it sounds like a killer find for a Chicago apartment!
