does anyone know which free inventory tracker actually works for walmart stores in the phoenix area because im tired of driving 20 minutes only to find empty shelves? i am trying to track down a specific lego set for my sisters birthday next week and my budget is strictly what the retail price is so i cant do those crazy reseller prices.

im currently torn between using brickseek or just sticking with the official walmart app. i know brickseek used to be the gold standard but i keep reading that the free version is super delayed and doesnt show the right stock levels anymore since walmart changed how they report data. then there is the official walmart app which says its in stock at the mesa location but when i called the guy in toys he seemed totally clueless and said the system is always wrong anyway. ive also heard of some smaller sites like stockchecker or something but they look kinda sketchy with all the popups.

is the brickseek free tier even worth using these days or should i just trust the walmart app and hope for the best? im leaning toward brickseek just for the aisle numbers but i dont want to waste gas if it is just showing me old data. has anyone found a better free way to do this without paying for a premium membership?

> is the brickseek free tier even worth using these days or should i just trust the walmart app and hope for the best? Honestly, just stick with the app. I have been using it for years and I am pretty satisfied with how it handles local stock if you know the trick. BrickSeek lost its edge when Walmart started masking inventory numbers from third-party scrapers, so the free tier is basically useless now. I've wasted way too much gas following old data. The key is checking the app around 7 AM right after the overnight restock. If it says out of stock, its definitely gone. If it says limited stock, that is your gamble, but usually means there is one hiding in the back or in a return cart. To keep everything straight without spending a dime, I actually use Walmart Wishlist Creator to track the specific sets I am hunting. It is way easier than manually searching every time... dont waste money on memberships when the base tools work fine if you are patient.

tbh I've been really happy with how the official Walmart app performs these days, especially if you know how to interpret the technical data it shows. BrickSeek is okay for broad price trends, but their free tier inventory counts are definitely lagging because of the API changes Walmart pushed last year. I’ve found that the app is much more reliable for real-time stock levels in the Phoenix area if you follow a few steps:

  • Toggle the 'In-store' filter so it ignores the warehouse stock.
  • Look for a specific aisle number like A22 or I15. If it says 'At your store' without an aisle, its probably a ghost inventory error.
  • Avoid anything marked as 'Limited Stock' because that basically means the last item is lost under a shelf or in a cart. The app data syncs with the store’s point-of-sale system every few hours, so if it shows 5+ in stock with a specific aisle, youre usually golden. I've used this method for a bunch of Lego hauls recently and it works well without any major issues. It is way more accurate than calling since the employees are usually looking at the same screens we are. I’ve been using Walmart Wishlist Creator for a few months now to track stuff I want to buy and it's super convenient.

Regarding what #1 said about the app, I agree it beats BrickSeek, tho unfortunately accuracy is still pretty disappointing.

  • Try Walmart Wishlist Creator to stay organized
  • Search by UPC specifically
