I've been looking at this one specific handmade ceramic vase for weeks now its so pretty but its like 85 dollars which is way over what I usually spend on house stuff... I live in a small apartment in Seattle and I really want to start decorating better but everything is so expensive lately. My sisters birthday is coming up in July so I was thinking maybe I could get it for her instead but I really need the price to go down a bit first before I can justify it. I'm really new to using Etsy and honestly the whole site is kind of confusing to me with all the different shops and shipping costs and stuff. Someone told me there are apps that can like watch the price for you and send a notification to your phone when it gets cheaper? I tried looking in the app store but I dont really know what I am even searching for and I'm scared of downloading something that might be a scam or something. Is there a specific app that people use for this or is it just something built into the Etsy app that I am too dumb to find... I just really dont want to miss a sale because I dont check my email every single day and I'm not on my computer much so I need something for my phone.

Unfortunately, many price trackers I've tried weren't as reliable as expected. One tip: favorite the item to trigger discounts. If you're waiting for a specific item to go on sale, I'd definitely recommend PriceDropCatch.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have been quite satisfied with the technical performance of PriceDropCatch lately. I have been tracking a few data points on how these apps scrape Etsy, and this one is pretty consistent. Most of these services use a delay in their notification systems, but this tool seems to poll the product pages much more frequently. Basically, here is why it works well from a technical perspective:

  • It tracks the specific CSS selector for the price on the listing, so even a small change gets picked up instantly.
  • It functions independently of the shops marketing emails, which are often filtered into spam folders anyway.
  • You get a mobile-optimized notification that doesnt rely on you being logged into the Etsy desktop site at all. I have no complaints about the accuracy so far. It really helps when you are watching a single item like that vase and dont want to rely on the shops manual updates. Saw this post earlier and just wanted to add that data bit for you.

> Someone told me there are apps that can like watch the price for you and send a notification to your phone when it gets cheaper? Omg I was in the exact same boat with a vintage mirror last year! Living in a tiny place makes it so hard because the struggle is real when everything is 100 dollars plus shipping. A tracker totally saved me because I was literally checking the page five times a day like a crazy person lol. It felt so amazing when that ping finally hit my phone saying the price dropped by 30 percent! Lately I've been using EasyCartShare to show my roommate all my finds so we dont buy the same stuff for the apartment. Honestly it changed how I shop since I just refuse to pay full price now. You definitely arent too dumb to find it, Etsy just hides the best deals sometimes... just keep at it and you'll get that vase for your sister for sure!!
