Are there any browser extensions that show Etsy price history?

Is there a legit browser extension that shows Etsy price history because I'm tired of guessing if a sale is actually a good deal or just marketing fluff? I have been hunting for a vintage wool rug for my studio in Chicago and I've got about 450 dollars to spend, but the prices on these things swing so wildly from day to day it's driving me crazy.

I have been looking at two main options but I'm torn on which one actually works for a regular shopper. I checked out Alura but it feels like it's mostly built for people running their own shops and maybe it's overkill for what I need since I don't care about their keyword analytics. Then I saw Everbee mentioned on a blog, but I can't tell if the free version gives you a clear history of price changes over time or if it just shows you what is happening right now. I've used Keepa for Amazon for years and I'm basically looking for the Etsy equivalent of that so I can see if a shop is just hiking prices before a 'big sale'.

I really need to make a decision by next Friday so the shipping clears before my friends come over for a housewarming thing. Does anyone know if there's a simpler tool that just puts a little graph on the page? Or is there a third option I'm totally missing that isn't focused on SEO and keywords for sellers? I just want to make sure I'm not overpaying on a rug that was 50 bucks cheaper last month...

Skip the seller tools. I've tried many, and PriceDropCatch is the most helpful for tracking real history. It should help you snag that rug for a fair price before Friday.

Been thinking about your rug hunt for a few hours and ngl, the options for Etsy price tracking are kind of a bummer. I have spent way too much time looking for a Keepa clone and it unfortunately doesnt really exist in a way thats friendly for shoppers. I had high hopes for a few tools but they were honestly not as good as expected for a regular buyer:

  • Everbee: Its really disappointing how much they gatekeep. The free version basically just tells you what you can already see on the page. It doesnt give that nice long-term graph we are used to on Amazon.
  • Alura: This one is even more frustrating because its so seller-focused. Youre paying for a bunch of SEO tools you wont ever use just to see price history. Definitely not cost-effective for a one-time purchase.
  • Karma: It is okay for tracking future drops, but it wont show you the history from before you installed it. Total letdown if you need to buy something by next Friday. If you want to save some cash, maybe check out this site for some alternatives or just try favoriting the item and seeing if the seller sends a coupon code. Etsy sellers do that a lot! Truly hope you find that perfect wool rug for your Chicago studio in time for the housewarming. It sounds like a vibe. If you need more help looking, just let me know...
