Does anyone know a browser extension that tracks Amazon prices but doesnt force you to make an account or sign in with Google? Im honestly so fed up with CamelCamelCamel and Keepa locking every little feature behind a login wall lately, it is driving me crazy.
Im trying to buy a specific Sony camera lens before my photography trip to Tokyo next month and the price keeps bouncing between 800 and 1100 bucks. I just want to see the history on the product page without giving away my personal info for the hundredth time. It feels like every tool ruins it with annoying sign up popups that wont go away. Is there anything left that just works locally?...
Yep, this is the way
Found this thread today. I used local scripts for my gear last year since they store history in the cache. Keeps things private and avoids those server-side trackers which I prefer.
> I just want to see the history on the product page without giving away my personal info for the hundredth time. I hear you. I went through this exact same headache last year when I was building out my home studio. I am super picky about my data and didnt want my browsing habits linked to a permanent account. I ended up trying PricePulse and honestly I have been really satisfied with how it handles things. No logins, no weird tracking scripts, just a clean chart. It helped me snag a pair of monitor speakers for 250 instead of the usual 340 because I could see the local history. It has been rock solid for months now with no complaints. Its nice to find something that just works without the bloat... definitely feels safer than those ones that constantly ping a server. It is way more reliable for me than the big names that always want a sign-in tho.
You definitely need to try the Price History extension! I use it all the time and it is amazing for avoiding those annoying account requirements. It puts a clean chart right under the Amazon price and doesnt ask for a single piece of personal info. I totally understand the struggle with Keepa... it has become such a mess lately with the constant sign-in prompts. This one is way better for quick checks on gear. I tracked my wide-angle lens for weeks using it and finally pulled the trigger when it hit its floor. It is super fast and just works locally like you wanted. You are gonna save a ton of cash for that Tokyo trip if you catch the lens at the 800 mark!
TIL! Thanks for sharing
