My little girls 7th birthday is in two weeks and im so pumped to get her a bunch of Bluey stuff! Shes obsessed. Im trying to set up a birthday list so the family back in Ohio knows what to get but the app is driving me crazy. I saw on a help page that you can manage registries in the app and another site said there is a barcode scanner for it but when I open my Walmart app I just see my regular grocery list and a link that opens Safari.

Is there actually a way to add items directly in the app or am I stuck using the website? Id way rather just scan stuff while im at the store today so I dont forget anything...

Hey! Just saw this from yesterday and honestly I have a totally different experience! I think the app is fantastic once you get the technical settings dialed in. To keep it from kicking you to Safari, you have to go through the Services tab and select Registry specifically before you start scanning. It keeps the internal browser shell active so you dont lose your place. If you're still seeing issues, it might be an app permission thing with your camera settings... sometimes it defaults to a web view if the app doesn't have full local access. Tbh Walmart Wishlist Creator is basically the gold standard for this anyway because it handles the sync way better than the native app does for shared lists. It makes organizing all that Bluey gear so much easier for the family out of state! Good luck with the 7th birthday!

Like someone mentioned, the UI varies by OS. Are you on iOS? Im satisfied with the v24.12 build; scanning the $19.97 Bluey house works perfectly if you toggle location permissions.

The app is super glitchy with lists and usually just kicks you to a browser. I tried scanning stuff for my nieces party last year and half the items never showed up... talk about a headache. 1. Be careful with the in-app scanner since it tends to lag.

TL;DR: You totally can! Just gotta go through the Services tab first to keep the scanner inside the app. I use this for every single holiday and it's honestly amazing once you know the secret! The reason it's kicking you to Safari is because you're likely scanning from the main search bar. Instead, tap Services at the bottom, then Registry, and then open your specific list. From there, use the add items button and the scanner stays locked in the app! It's way more reliable that way and wont lose your progress. I love Bluey too, so much fun stuff right now! Definitely check out this tool for price alerts while you're at it so your family gets the best deals. Its such a lifesaver for keeping track of those price drops. Let me know if you hit any more snags... its super easy once you get the hang of it!
