honestly im so over this app. my logic was that there would be a simple export button but nope. i need to move my whole 50 item housewarming list to my new account before moving next week and i cant find anything. is there a way to actually transfer it or do i have to manually re-add everything?...

  • Use Easy Cart Share for a safe transfer.
  • Be careful not to delete the old list until you verify it tho, as I once lost my whole registry by rushing.

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in because i dealt with a similar mess last year. Amazon doesnt really make it easy to just click a button and move things which is super frustrating. You have to be really careful not to accidentally delete your progress or lose your links during the transition. Heres what i would suggest to keep it safe:

  • Change the list privacy to Public or Shared first so you can actually see it from the other account without login errors.
  • Copy the link and open it in a private browser window to make sure the items actually show up.
  • You might want to consider a browser tool like Easy Cart Share to handle the transfer. Just get any extension from that brand and it should work fine without too much fuss. I would definitely suggest double checking every item after you move them. Sometimes the sellers change when you re-add things. Good luck with the move tho, let me know if you hit a snag!

Honestly its absolutely ridiculous how a trillion-dollar company like Amazon makes basic list management such a total nightmare. Over the years Ive spent thousands there and the platform has arguably gotten worse while they keep hiking up Prime prices every chance they get. It feels like a scam that they lock your data into one account with zero way to migrate it. Here is why it drives me crazy:

  • The UI is ancient and they refuse to add a simple export button because they want you trapped in their ecosystem forever.
  • You spend hours curating a list and then youre basically held hostage by their lack of features.
  • Quality control on the site is going downhill with all the generic junk brands, yet we still deal with these clunky, broken tools. Basically feels like they just dont care about the user experience anymore as long as the money keeps rolling in. I totally feel your pain on the housewarming thing. Moving is stressful enough without having to fight an app that should be way smarter than this. Tbh, I started using Easy Cart Share a few months back just to manage my group buys and shared lists because I was so fed up with Amazons native tools failing me. Its pathetic that we have to look for external workarounds for something that should be a one-click fix. Just lazy engineering.
