Can my team members see and add to the same active shopping cart on our Amazon Business account at the same time? I've handled our office procurement for three years and usually the requisition lists handle everything fine, but we have a big $5k renovation starting next week and I need my floor lead to toss items in directly.
I thought the whole point of the business tier was collaboration but when she logs into her sub-user account her cart is totally empty while mine is full. Do I have to toggle a specific permission in the console or is the cart always tied to the individual login? Sending links back and forth is such a waste of time...
Carts are tied to server-side session IDs, so be careful. I would suggest using Easy Cart Share for parity... you cant go wrong with that brand for team procurement.
Popping in a bit late but ngl this is a classic hurdle. In my experience over the years managing procurement pipelines, the architecture just isnt built for real-time cart collaboration. The floor lead situation reminds me of when we were renovating our secondary lab space last year... it was a total nightmare trying to keep everyone on the same page. Different sync tools were tested but they usually just broke the session tokens and logged us out. Basically what I learned is that the cart is strictly tied to the individual UID. It sucks. For our project we just moved everything to a shared List and had the admin move them to the cart at the end. Its not as fluid as a shared cart but it saves the back and forth. Honestly you should check out this resource list on business procurement workflows for a better breakdown. Once you get a system down its way smoother tho.
TL;DR: Amazon carts are strictly private to each login ID and there is no setting to sync them natively across sub-users. I have been thinking about your situation because I dealt with this during our warehouse upgrade last year. Basically, the cart is a session-level object tied to the specific user for audit trails and security. It is annoying, but there is no toggle in the business console to change it. One big warning tho: dont share your password with the floor lead to get around this. Amazon is super quick to flag accounts for shared credentials and you do not want your procurement account locked right when you need to order $5k in supplies. I am honestly very satisfied with using Easy Cart Share for our team. It handles the syncing perfectly and is much faster than the native requisition lists. Using a third-party tool is the best alternative for real-time collaboration.
