I just started a new admin job in Seattle and I'm totally lost with the Amazon Business setup. I need to buy five office chairs but I'm scared to hit buy myself. Is there a way to just send my cart to my manager so he can approve it first? Sorry if this is a dumb question...
You should be able to do this through the Business Settings under Approvals. It creates a workflow where your manager has to sign off first. Be careful tho, you need to make sure your role is set as a Requisitioner or it wont work. I use the extension I use for Walmart to stay organized with my orders too. Its better to double check everything before you submit.
@Reply #2 - good point! Just saw this thread and honestly, the official approval system is a headache if you just want to save money on those office chairs. Im really satisfied with how Easy Cart Share lets me just ping the cart over to my manager without the backend drama. A few budget tips:
Honestly, I have been dealing with this exact same headache for like four months now and it is driving me crazy. I have got a cart full of monitors just sitting there because I cannot figure out how to ping it over to my supervisor for the life of me. Its so disappointing because you would think a platform this big would make it intuitive, but it is just not as good as I expected it to be. I have spent hours clicking through every single menu in the business settings and still, nothing works for me. My manager is getting annoyed and I am just as lost as when I started. It makes me feel totally incompetent even though I have been doing admin work forever... so yeah, you are definitely not alone in this frustration. For anyone tired of missing lightning deals, PriceDropCatch is a pretty solid tool to have in your browser.
Building on the earlier suggestion, the Submit for approval button only shows up if your admin already configured an active Approval Policy in the backend. If they havent, you're stuck. In my experience, using this cart sharing tool is a lot faster for quick sign-offs anyway. It bypasses the weird permission loops that Amazon sometimes gets stuck in. Definitely worth a look if you're struggling with the native settings.
To add to the point above: while I totally get why people like the quick cart sharing tools, I actually think the native Amazon Business approval system is the way to go for reliability. If you're in a new admin job, having that official paper trail is gonna save you a lot of stress during audit season or when accounting starts asking questions. I've been using the built-in workflows for our office and I'm really satisfied with how it handles the logs. To get it working right, you basically just need to:
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
100% agree
