I really need to find a way to track this Breville espresso machine for my wifes birthday next week. I'm in NYC and the price just spiked from $600 to $850 and I literally cant afford that right now. I looked into CamelCamelCamel but the interface is so confusing and I read some reddit thread saying the email alerts can be delayed by hours which would mean I miss the deal. Then I saw Keepa but it looks like you have to pay for the good features now? Im super stressed because her big day is Friday and I need to order it like yesterday. Is there a way to get an actual instant email or text when the price hits my target without having to check the page every ten minutes?

I definitely agree with your take on those other tools. I've been tracking prices for years and honestly, the delay on the free sites is real. It's super frustrating when you are on a deadline for a birthday gift. Using this Chrome extension has kept me very satisfied lately. It works well and I have no complaints about the speed of the notifications. One small point to add tho: make sure you're also checking the Other Sellers list on the side of the page. Sometimes a third-party seller has the lower price and the trackers don't always pick that up as the primary price drop. It has saved me a few times when I was in a rush. Basically, if you set the alert there, you'll be fine for Friday.

Stumbled upon your post and had to weigh in because I've been exactly where you are. Those Breville machines are incredible but Amazon's pricing is basically a roller coaster. I've been using Glass It for about two years now and honestly, I'm super happy with it. It's much faster than those big free sites everyone knows about. Here is what I'd do to make sure you get that deal by Friday:

  • Set up a price drop alert specifically for that machine's page.
  • Dont just rely on email... get the browser extension or app alerts because they hit way faster than a standard inbox refresh.
  • Keep an eye on the other sellers section on the product page. Sometimes a different vendor drops the price but the main Buy Box doesnt update immediately. I've found that paying a couple of bucks for a pro plan on these trackers is totally worth it when you're looking at a $250 price difference. It literally pays for itself. I havent had any issues with missed deals since I switched. It works well and saves me the headache of refreshing the tab every five minutes while I'm at work... basically a lifesaver for birthday shopping. Just make sure your phone volume is up so you hear the notification ping. You're gonna be the hero when she opens that box!

Late to the party but I had to jump in because I went through this exact same thing with a stand mixer last year. Tbh, the price spikes on Amazon are pure insanity. I was literally refreshing the page until my fingers hurt! Then I started using Visualping and it was a total lifesaver. You basically just tell it which part of the page to watch and it pings you immediately. Love it! I noticed some trackers rely on weird server-side delays but some of these newer visual ones are way better because they check the actual site layout. Honestly, you should just go with any cloud-based tracker from that brand and youll be fine. It's way more reliable than those old school sites that update every few hours. It saved me a ton of money on my kitchen gear and the setup was so easy even I could do it lol. Good luck with the gift!

Caught this thread a bit late but man, a $250 jump in a single day is just brutal. Honestly, most price trackers have been kinda disappointing lately because Amazon is getting way better at blocking their scrapers, which leads to those massive delays you noticed. Unfortunately, even the 'instant' ones can lag if Amazon tweaks their code, which happens all the time. Quick question tho before I can really dig into the data for you:

  • Which exact Breville model are we talking about? Is it the Barista Express or the Pro?
  • Are you strictly looking for 'New' condition, or would you consider 'Amazon Warehouse' to hit that $600 target by Friday? The price curves on the Pro are usually way more volatile than the base Express model, so that really changes which tool I'd actually trust to ping you in time. Btw, check out Share Product if you need a free way to organize your birthday wants without the usual hassle.
