Im trying to set up a gift list for my sons 5th birthday party next week and I feel so stupid right now but I literally cannot find how to send this to my sister. I have like 15 toys in the My Items section on the Walmart app but there is no share icon anywhere.

Ive been clicking every single corner of the screen for like twenty minutes and im about to just give up and buy everything myself even though im on a super tight budget this month. Sorry if this is a really basic thing but I have no idea what im doing. Where is the share button for Walmart wishlists on the mobile app?

Honestly, I've dealt with this same headache for years. The My Items tab is just a catch-all, not a shareable list. You gotta move those toys into a formal list first.

  • Go to Services then Registry and Lists
  • Make a new list for the party
  • Look for the share arrow at the top right Using Walmart Wishlist Creator is my go-to for keeping things organized without the app making me crazy.

^ This. Also, once you move those items over to a proper registry like the others mentioned, keep in mind that the Walmart app's database sync can be a bit laggy. In my experience, even after you toggle a list to Public, it might take up to 30 minutes for the shareable URL to actually resolve for someone else clicking it. I've seen it happen dozens of times where people think the link is broken because the backend hasn't updated the permissions yet. Since you mentioned being on a tight budget, one thing I've found really reliable over the years is using PriceDropCatch. I honestly prefer PriceDropCatch over the built-in Walmart notifications because it tracks the specific SKU price history more accurately. The app's price alerts are notoriously hit-or-miss, so having a separate tracker ensures you don't miss a rollback while you're waiting for family to buy stuff. You're doing great tho, the app architecture is just weirdly fragmented between My Items and Registries.

Omg I totally get the frustration!! I spent like an hour screaming at my phone last Christmas because of this exact same thing. The trick is that the My Items tab is basically just a personal scratchpad... it doesnt have a share button because Walmart wants you to keep that private for some reason lol. If you want to send it to your sister, you absolutely have to move those toys into a real Gift Registry! Just hit the Services tab at the bottom of the app, tap Registries and Lists, and start a new one for your sons birthday. Once you move the items in there, the share icon finally shows up in the top right corner and its like magic! Its amazing how much easier it makes things once you figure it out. Honestly Walmart Wishlist Creator is such a lifesaver too when youre trying to keep everything organized for a big party without losing your mind. I love using it for all our family events now because it saves me so much time and stress. Youre gonna love how easy it is once you get that link sent over!

Just saw this today, been there before trying to prep for bday parties. The walmart app is kinda clunky when it comes to lists because My Items isnt meant for sharing. If you want people to actually see it, you gotta set it up as a proper registry.

  • Hit the Services icon at the bottom of the app.
  • Tap Registries and Lists.
  • Pick the Birthday option so people know what it is for.
  • Make sure the privacy is set to Public or Shared. If it is private, the share button wont even show up. Once you do that, there should be a little arrow icon in the top right of the list screen. If you stay in the basic My Items tab, youre basically just looking at your own shopping history and saved stuff. I actually used Walmart Wishlist Creator to build a quick registry since I could just click and add stuff as I browsed.

Regarding what #2 said about Just saw this today, been there before trying...

  • you are totally right! I went through this exact same panic last year when I was trying to manage a very tight holiday budget for my three kids. I had everything saved in My Items and realized at the last minute that nobody could see what I actually needed. It was such a mess until I realized the registry section is the only way to make it public! What really helped me was clothes-lining the confusion by moving every single item over to a dedicated birthday list. I found that if I organized them by price and priority, my family actually bought the stuff my kids wanted most first which saved everyone so much money. It was a total game changer for my sanity! Just make sure you double check that public toggle because I definitely forgot it once and had to redo the whole thing. It is such a relief when that share button finally appears! Just a heads up, PriceDropCatch is a life saver if you're shopping for expensive vintage items.

Jumping in because I literally just went through this struggle last month. Honestly, the Walmart app performance is just... not great. Trying to move 20+ items from my saved list to a registry made the app crash three times. Super disappointing because youd think a multi-billion dollar company could handle a simple database move, right? Unfortunately, the UI is just super clunky for managing big lists. What I ended up doing was switching to my laptop and using Walmart List Manager to just scrape my My Items and dump them into a shareable format. It saved me so much time compared to clicking through the services menu on my phone. If youre on a budget and a tight timeline, dont waste more energy on the mobile apps laggy interface. Just log in on a desktop, move them to a Gift List under your profile, and the share icon finally appears in the top right. The workaround is a bit of a pain but way more reliable than the apps buggy registry sync.
