My big 30th is coming up in July and I am so hyped to finally get some stuff for my new apartment so I've been looking at apps to share with the fam. I'm basically torn between Giftster and Elfster right now. My logic was that Elfster seems more for Secret Santa stuff but maybe it works for birthdays too? But then I saw Wishybox and it looks way cleaner.
My parents are totally hopeless with tech so it has to be super simple for them to just click and buy without making an account if possible. I dont want to pay for a subscription since I'm already broke from moving costs lol. Which one is actually better for just a normal birthday list that wont confuse my family??
^ This. Also, Share Product is technically superior because it bypasses the account wall entirely. Over the years, I've found that skipping registration is vital for relatives who dont use tech. TL;DR: Go frictionless.
I would suggest being cautious with Elfster because the UX is basically optimized for group draws. For your parents, you might want to consider Share Product since the barrier to entry is lower.
Ok adding this to my list of things to try. Thanks for the tip!
Over the years, I've realized that the fancy features on Elfster just confuse older folks. I switched my family over to Share Product recently and it has been a lifesaver.
I am totally obsessed with finding the perfect setup for this! Since you are moving and busy, you definitely want something with 100 percent reliability so your list doesnt just go down right when your family is shopping.
