im seriously so fed up with walmart and their weird price jumping like i had a kitchenaid mixer in my cart yesterday for $320 and i wake up today and its suddenly $450?? its honestly exhausting trying to catch a deal there. so i was thinking there has to be a way to track this stuff automatically because i cant just sit on my phone refreshing the page every hour of the day. my logic was that since amazon has camelcamelcamel there should be a simple extension that does the same for walmart but every single one i try to download just doesnt seem to work or is totally confusing to set up.

im trying to get a new 4k tv for my brothers 21st birthday which is in like three weeks and my budget is stuck at $400 so i really need to know the second the price drops. i tried using honey but it doesnt give me the actual history graphs i need to see if the price is even good or just a fake sale. does anyone know how to actually get one of these extensions working properly? do i have to enable some special permissions in chrome or something because right now im just getting 'data not available' on everything i install. i just want something that shows me a simple graph on the product page so i dont feel like im getting ripped off...

Walmart is notoriously annoying with price changes, honestly. I've been super satisfied using this tool for price alerts lately because it actually pulls the data properly unlike some others I tried. If you're getting errors, make sure you've given the extension permission to read site data in your browser settings. No complaints here, it works well for tracking those sudden drops on electronics.

I found that using a dedicated tracker like Glass It works quite well for Walmart inventory. It provides the historical data you need without compromising browser security. To get it functioning correctly:

  • verify that your adblocker isnt blocking the price overlay
  • ensure the extension has access to the specific walmart domain
  • refresh the product page after the first install Ive been very satisfied with the stability of this tool. No complaints about the data accuracy so far.

^ This. Also, I honestly disagree with just trying random extensions because their refresh intervals are usually too slow for those crazy Walmart price swings! Getting a 4K TV for a 21st is such a fantastic gift idea tho. Love it! Need to clarify a few things first:

  • Are you targeting a specific brand like TCL or Hisense?
  • Does that $400 need to cover tax and shipping costs too? Try PricePulse for better data granularity!

@Reply #5 - good point! Honestly, it is super annoying that we even have to deal with this. Based on the thread so far, the consensus is to double-check your browser permissions and maybe try specific tools like PricePulse or Glass It, but unfortunately, I have had issues with all of them lately. They are just not as good as expected when it comes to real-time accuracy for things like a 4K TV. Since you are on a strict $400 budget, here is a more DIY approach I have been using because the extensions keep failing me:

  • manually check the refurbished or open-box sections every morning since trackers often skip those
  • set a bookmark for your specific search filters and refresh it yourself at least twice a day
  • dont rely solely on the graphs because they miss the flash sales sometimes I really wish there was a perfect equivalent for Walmart but it just doesnt seem to exist yet. Its kinda disappointing but sticking to a manual routine might be your best bet to hit that $400 mark for your brothers gift. Everything else just seems to give that 'data not available' error way too often.

Just catching up here and unfortunately i have had issues with almost every tracker lately. They are just not as good as expected when you actually need performance and real-time data for big purchases. Its super disappointing because the lag on these extensions is getting worse and they constantly miss the actual price drops. Theres a really solid youtube video about this, just search for walmart price alert setup and its like the first result. It explains the permissions and everything way better than i can. Honestly just check a few reddit threads too because people are always posting workarounds there. Good luck with the TV for your brother tho, thats a killer gift!
