Is Keepa or another tool a better alternative to CamelCamelCamel?

I’ve been using CamelCamelCamel since like 2015 and it used to be the gold standard for me but lately it just feels so sluggish and half the time the price alerts arrive way after the deal is already sold out. Im currently trying to source parts for a new high-end PC build for my brother and I need something that actually tracks used prices and those warehouse deals properly because CCC is basically useless for that stuff lately. I noticed it missed a massive drop on a 4080 Super yesterday and I'm honestly just done with it. It's like the data refresh rate has slowed down to a crawl or maybe Amazon is just blocking them more often now. It's just frustrating because I've relied on the camel for so long that I feel like I'm betraying an old friend but when the notifications hit my phone twenty minutes after a GPU goes out of stock it's just a waste of space on my home screen.

I heard Keepa is the way to go but looking at their interface it looks like a cockpit of a plane and I dont want to waste hours learning it if its just gonna be the same issues. Is it actually better for fast-moving stock? I need some real data here because I’m losing my mind with these missed drops. Does Keepa even track the lightning deal percentage? That would be a game changer for me because those things go in seconds.

My specific needs are basically:

  • budget: I can swing like 15 or 20 bucks a month if the data is actually real-time and reliable
  • use case: tracking used like new warehouse deals and buy box fluctuations for high-end electronics
  • must have: a solid chrome extension that doesnt hog memory or crash constantly
  • location: US based tracking specifically

It feels like Amazon has changed how they handle scrapers and CCC just hasn't kept up with the speed of lightning deals or the way the buy box rotates now. I need to see the actual buy box history because just seeing the generic new price doesn't tell the whole story when third party sellers are involved. Is Keepa really the only other big player worth the sub or is there something newer I haven't heard of yet? Someone mentioned Honey but that feels more like a casual coupon thing than a serious tracking tool for someone who actually wants to look at the charts. I need to get this build finished by the end of the month before he goes back to college and I cant keep sitting here refreshing pages manually...

Just saw this thread and honestly your frustration is valid. CCC is fine for basic stuff but for a high-end build like a 4080 Super you definitely need more granular data. Keepa is the industry standard for a reason even if it looks like a mess at first. It handles the specific things you mentioned way better than the camel does. Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding Keepa:

  • The buy box history is its best feature for electronics. You can see exactly when Amazon loses the buy box to third-party sellers which happens a lot with GPUs.
  • Used Warehouse deals are tracked separately so you can set specific alerts for Like New or Very Good conditions.
  • It does track the lightning deal percentage in real time on the graph which sounds like exactly what you need.
  • The monthly sub is about 19 euros (around 20 bucks) so it fits your budget perfectly. I personally find the extension stable enough but it can be heavy on resources if you have twenty tabs open at once. If you want something that feels a bit more modern while you are learning the Keepa graphs I have been using PriceDropCatch for my latest storage drive upgrades and it has been pretty solid for catching those quick dips. Its worth looking into both to see which data feed hits your phone faster because for high-end parts every second counts. It takes a minute to get used to the interface but once you understand the different colored lines its hard to go back to anything else.

> Does Keepa even track the lightning deal percentage? Yes! Keepa is absolutely fantastic for this! It tracks the exact Lightning Deal percentage and offers deep Buy Box history that CCC lacks. For your $20 budget, the data granularity is truly amazing. Use the Data tab to filter for Warehouse Deals specifically. The extension is super stable and provides real-time alerts that actually beat the rush! I've been keeping an eye on a few monitors with PriceDropCatch and finally grabbed one at its lowest price yesterday.

Unfortunately CCC just cant handle current buy box rotation logic anymore. I had issues with their refresh cycles during the last GPU launch and its honestly embarrassing. Keepa tracks the lightning deal percentage and used conditions, but the UI is a total mess. If you're into serious deal hunting, PriceDropCatch is a must-have extension for your Chrome setup to get faster pings. Its way more reliable for warehouse deals than the camel.
