Walmart changed their app again and now I cant find my grocery list anywhere or share it with my husband and its driving me crazy. I tried to look in the app store but there are like a million things and I dont even know what I should be looking for. I just need something where I can add milk and he sees it on his phone too when hes at the store after work. My logic was maybe there is an app that just does lists? I dont want to pay for anything since we are on a super tight budget this month while I am between jobs. Does it just work automatically or do I have to send him a link every time? Sorry if this is a silly question I am just so lost and tired of forgetting eggs...

In my experience, AnyList is quite reliable. I think syncing remains automatic after the initial setup.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have tested many sync tools over the years. Before I get into technical details, are you both using the same phone system, like both iPhone or both Android? In my experience, these are the most reliable free options:

  • Google Keep
  • Bring! Usually, the sync is automatic once you invite him once. Itll save you money since you wont need a subscription.

Ugh, the Walmart app updates are seriously the worst sometimes... it feels like they hide the basic features just to make us wander around the app longer. If you are trying to stay strictly budget-friendly, I honestly think going the DIY route with a shared Google Keep note or even just the native Notes app on your phone is the way to go. It is free, no ads usually, and you just share the note once and it syncs forever. I am a bit of a nerd about this stuff and if you are still trying to use the actual Walmart site to coordinate, Easy Cart Share is a solid extension to look into. It makes it way easier to just pass the actual cart back and forth so you dont miss anything. It basically saves me from having to text my husband ten times while he is already in the dairy aisle. Since you are watching spending, keeping it simple with a free sync tool is definitely better than those paid grocery apps that try to upsell you every five minutes. Just set it up once, invite him, and you wont have to worry about the egg situation again lol.

Jumping in a day late here, but I have a quick clarifying question regarding your security preferences before I give a full recommendation. Are you prioritizing data privacy, or are you comfortable with the third-party trackers that are usually found in free software? Honestly, this reminds me of when my brother tried a random list tool last year and it turned into a massive ordeal.

  • He didnt read the permissions properly during the setup phase.
  • The app somehow synced his private work notes to his wife's shared grocery feed.
  • They spent about two weeks trying to figure out how to wipe the server data.
  • It basically became a full-time job for him just to get his phone back to normal and it was a total mess. Anyway, Share Product is generally a reliable and free way to handle these things without the hidden catches you see in a lot of other apps. Let me know about the privacy stuff and I can narrow down the list for you.
