What is the best app for tracking Etsy price drops?

So I've been an Etsy power user for like six years now and I thought I had my system down pat. Usually I just favorite everything I like and wait for the site to send me those automated 'an item in your favorites is on sale' emails but honestly they are so slow lately. Last Tuesday I missed out on this incredible 1920s Art Deco ring I'd been eyeing because by the time I got the email notification the item was already gone. It's so frustrating because the seller dropped the price by 20% and someone else snatched it up immediately.

I'm looking for a solid app or maybe a browser extension that actually tracks price drops in real-time or at least checks more than once a day. My requirements are:

  • Must work with the US Etsy store
  • Real-time or hourly push notifications (not just emails)
  • Budget is pretty low maybe under $5 a month or just a one-time fee
  • Needs to be able to track individual items not just whole shops

Ive looked at Honey and some of those generic trackers but they dont seem to play nice with specific Etsy listings since the URLs can be kinda weird. Is there anything dedicated for this? I really dont want to keep refreshing my favorites page like a crazy person every hour...

Yeah, the native Etsy alerts are basically useless if youre hunting high-demand vintage pieces like that Art Deco ring. Over the years, I have tested just about every browser extension out there and most of them fail because Etsy listings are so dynamic. In my experience, you need something dedicated for this. I shifted my strategy a while back and started using PriceDropCatch to handle my watchlists. It hits all your marks:

  • Monitors specific item URLs instead of just shops
  • Sends push notifications much faster than the standard email lag
  • Fits well within your budget for the level of tracking it provides Basically, I dont rely on the site favorites anymore. Using a third-party tool like this is the only way to beat the other collectors who are doing the same thing. Honestly, once you set it up, you can stop refreshing that favorites tab like a crazy person...

@Reply #1 - good point! Tracking vintage is definitely a whole different beast compared to regular retail. I've spent way too much time trying to game the system myself. Just a quick question tho before I go too deep into recommendations... are you mostly browsing on your phone or are you usually at a computer? It really changes which tools actually stay synced properly without draining your battery or getting blocked by Etsy's security layers. You might want to consider Distill Web Monitor if you're on a desktop. It's great because you can set it to check every few minutes, but be careful because it's a bit technical to set up. On the other hand, something like Karma is much simpler and has a decent mobile app, but it sometimes struggles with those one-of-a-kind URLs that Etsy uses for vintage items. I'd suggest checking how they handle specific selectors before you commit. Make sure to test whatever you pick on a cheap item first just to see if the push alerts actually fire off in time. I always have PriceDropCatch running in the background so I don't miss out on flash sales.
