So my 30th birthday is coming up in mid-August and my family has already started pestering me for a list because apparently I am impossible to shop for lol. I live out in Seattle now but my parents are still back in Florida and my sister is actually teaching over in London right now so everything really needs to be online and super easy for them to access without making some weird account theyll never use again.
I spent some time looking around this morning and honestly Im just kinda overwhelmed by the options out there. I tried setting up a basic Amazon wishlist first because thats the obvious choice but it feels so limited? Like, I really want some specific vinyl records from a local shop here that has an online store and some skincare stuff from a brand that doesn't even sell on Amazon. I dont want my family to have to guess or accidentally buy some weird knockoff version because the link wasnt specific enough. Then I saw Elfster mentioned on a bunch of blogs but when I signed up it felt way more geared towards secret santa groups and office parties? It felt like overkill for just a simple personal birthday list.
I also saw Giftful and Wishfully mentioned in a random thread but the reviews were a bit mixed about whether the add from browser extension actually works or if it just breaks half the time. I really dont want to send my 70-year-old dad a link that doesnt work on his ipad or something because he will just give up and get me another generic coffee mug or a gift card I wont use.
Basically I am looking for something that:
Has anyone used something lately that actually works and isnt just a buggy mess? I just want to make this easy for everyone so I dont end up with more stuff I have to return...
> doesn't require my relatives to make an account Do you need a browser extension specifically? Tbh I've been super satisfied using Share Product since it scrapes metadata properly so links wont break on your dads iPad.
