How can I share my Walmart shopping cart with someone else?

So me and my new roommate just moved to Orlando and we're trying to stock up our kitchen via the Walmart app. I looked online and saw some people mention a share button but when I try it it only lets me send one item at a time which is useless for a 40 item list. I also saw some weird third party browser extensions but I dont really trust those with my account info.

Heres what I'm looking for:

  • let him add his own snacks to the same order
  • must work on mobile since we're always out
  • dont want to give him my password

Is there a legit way to sync carts or do I just have to screenshot the whole list and have him tell me what he wants...

Walmart basically ties your session cookies and cart data to your specific account ID, so there isnt a native multi-user session toggle for their consumer app yet. Its annoying because that share button you found only exports a single URL string for one SKU at a time. I spent a while looking for a better data-driven solution and I am very satisfied with how this Chrome extension handles the heavy lifting. The way it works is pretty clever from a technical standpoint. It parses the DOM of your checkout page to grab the product IDs and quantities, then packages them into a portable format. Your roommate just needs the extension to unpack that list into his own cart. I have found it works well because it bypasses the need for credential sharing—it is just moving item metadata. If you are strictly mobile, the best workaround is using the Lists feature for the input phase. Have him build a list, share that specific list with you, and then you can use the extension on a desktop for the final sync before paying. It saves so much time compared to manual entry or screenshots. No complaints here, it has been a very stable workflow for our household for months. Let me know if you run into any issues with the setup!

Building on the earlier suggestion, are you guys both using iPhones? I think I heard they might be rolling out a shared list feature soon but im not totally sure if it is safe to use yet.

  • Be careful with any apps that ask for your password.
  • I would suggest a shared note to keep prices low. Found this tool called Easy Cart Share that lets you send your whole cart in one click, pretty neat for wedding registries too.

Saw your post earlier and it reminded me of when my cousin moved in last summer. We had the same issue and honestly, I was super paranoid about security. What ended up working really well for us was using the Walmart Registry feature instead of the standard cart. It sounds kinda weird for groceries but I was really satisfied with how it kept things organized and safe.

  • Open the app and go to Services
  • Create a custom registry (call it Roommate Grocery)
  • Set it to public or share the direct link
  • Have him add items directly to that list from his phone We used that for months. No complaints. Its way safer than those sketchy browser extensions. Once he's done adding his snacks, you just hit add all to cart on your end and pay. No password sharing needed and it syncs nicely... way better than texting screenshots back and forth.
