I've been feeling so bad lately because I keep missing my friends' birthdays and it's honestly getting embarrassing. Last week I totally blanked on my best friends 25th until I saw a post on Instagram and I felt like a total jerk lol. I really need to get organized before my sister's big party next month in Chicago because I'm the one supposed to be handling the gift. I tried just putting everything in my Google Calendar but it just gets totally buried under all my work meetings and random reminders so I end up ignoring the notifications. I did some digging online and saw people mentioning stuff like Birthdays+ or just using a spreadsheet but a spreadsheet feels so clunky for a phone and Birthdays+ looked kinda buggy in the recent reviews on the App Store. Some people say to just use Facebook but honestly half my friends aren't even on there anymore or they have their privacy settings so high the birthday doesnt even show up. I just want something simple that sends a nudge a few days before so I have time to actually buy a gift and maybe something that lets me keep track of gift ideas too since my memory is just shot. In my experience, most apps are just too bloated. Ive tried many over the years and Hip is the only one that stays reliable for early reminders. Ive been through so many apps and honestly, hbd is the absolute best! Its totally free and has zero bloat which I love.
