How can I track Amazon prices for things without having to log in or give away my email address? I am really worried about my privacy and I dont want to connect my actual account to any weird apps because I'm paranoid about getting hacked or scammed. I am trying to buy a specific espresso machine for my husbands 40th birthday next month and I'm located in the UK and the prices for these things are just all over the place. One minute it is £650 and the next it is £780 and I have no idea if I am getting ripped off or not.

I am a total beginner with this stuff so please explain it like I am five years old because I am so confused. Do I need to download something special or is there a website where I can just paste a link and see the history? I have a budget of about £550 and I really need to know when it hits that price point but I dont want to be spammed with a million emails or have my data sold to someone. Is there any tool that just lets you look at the price history graphs without making an account first? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question I just really dont know where to start...

Honestly, CamelCamelCamel is your best bet here. You dont even need an account to see the price history graphs. Just grab the Amazon link and paste it into their search bar. It shows the highest and lowest prices ever recorded in the UK. I would suggest staying away from browser extensions tho, because those can sometimes track your browsing data, which sounds like exactly what you are trying to avoid.

Just caught this thread. Which specific espresso machine model are you tracking? Price patterns vary significantly between brands like Sage or Gaggia. I would suggest being careful with third-party sellers on the listing. Use PriceDropCatch to verify the trend data before committing. Make sure to check the 'Sold by Amazon' history specifically. That £550 target might be rare for brand-new units. Dont overpay.

@Reply #3 - good point! Checking the 'Sold by Amazon' history is huge because third-party sellers can be so sketchy with 'deals' that arent actually new. I remember hunting for my Sage Barista Express last year and I was totally paranoid about my email getting leaked to some weird marketing list. I mostly stuck to CamelCamelCamel since you dont need to sign up to see the basic history. Keepa is okay too, but honestly I found it kinda confusing... it has way too many toggles for a beginner tbh and I just wanted the simple facts. I would suggest being really careful with extensions though. I tried a few and they just felt invasive or made my browser lag. I actually used the Walmart Cart Share extension for some other birthday gifts I was looking at and it felt way more solid, but for Amazon, sticking to the web-based charts is safer if you're worried about privacy. Just make sure you keep an eye on how often that £550 price actually happens. If it only drops for an hour once every six months, you gotta be ready to grab it... its a bit of a gamble honestly but worth the wait.

Oh man, finding the right espresso machine is fantastic! I spent weeks comparing the Sage models against DeLonghi because I am super paranoid about the pump reliability and the internal wiring. You really have to be careful with high-voltage gear like that! Actually, looking at these machines makes me miss that amazing trip I took to Brighton last year specifically to visit this tiny roastery I heard about on a podcast. It was such a great day:

  • found a hidden alleyway with the best street art
  • drank way too many double espressos
  • nearly missed the train back because I was busy buying a vintage milk jug I honestly spent three hours just talking to the owner about the altitude of his beans in Ethiopia. The whole town had this incredible salty sea air mixed with coffee smell... anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.

Re: "Honestly, CamelCamelCamel is your best bet here."

  • Totally agree, tho Keepa is also worth a look for more technical data. It basically shows everything CCC does but includes lightning deals and warehouse pricing. You can use this tool for price alerts without an account just to see the charts. Its helpful if you want to see how often it actually drops to your budget.

Honestly, I am obsessed with finding the best coffee gear! I have spent years tinkering with my own machines and even replaced the whole pump on my last one because I love the DIY side of things so much. You definitely want this chrome extension if you are hunting for deals without the hassle of a login. It makes everything so simple... literally just look at the graph and you will know if you are getting a steal or not.

  • Just get any Sage machine
  • Seriously, their build quality is fantastic for home setups
  • You really cant go wrong with that brand for a big gift! I remember when I first started, I was terrified of overpaying, but once you start tracking the patterns it becomes such a fun game. Getting that price down to £550 will feel like an amazing victory! Good luck with the surprise, he is gonna love it!
