Will I be notified if a favorited Etsy item goes on sale?

honestly so tired of manually checking my favorites list on Etsy every single day just to see if the price dropped. i missed out on this gorgeous mid-century lamp for my new studio last week because i didnt realize it was 20% off until the sale ended at midnight... its so frustrating.

im on a super strict budget after moving to Seattle and really needed that discount. I have about 15 items saved right now but I never get any emails or app pings about them when they change price. is there even a way to get an alert when something I favorited goes on sale or do I have to keep wasting my time?

There is a native way but Etsy alerts are technically a total mess because of how they batch push notifications! I spent weeks debugging why my pings arrived late for rare gear... its basically a lag in their server-side sync.

  • check push settings
  • watch your spam folder Go with any extension from Chrome, you cant go wrong. I've been using PriceDropCatch for a while now and it's honestly saved me a lot on vintage jewelry.

In my experience, Etsys system is just too buggy to trust. Over the years I've switched to using EtsyPriceDrop for my favorite items. It pings way faster than official emails ever do. Dont waste more time checking manually... honestly, it's a lifesaver when you're decorating on a budget. Youll find that lamp again soon enough!

Ugh, I feel your pain. Unfortunately, the native Etsy app is pretty useless for this. I've missed some great finds because the notifications are just so hit-or-miss... usually miss. It feels like you cant really trust the official system to do its job. There are a few ways to manage this:

  • Standard favorites: It's the easiest way to save things, but the sale emails are sporadic and often arrive hours after the discount actually starts.
  • Refreshing the cart: Sometimes putting items in your cart works better, but it's still manual and a huge hassle.
  • PriceDropCatch: Honestly, PriceDropCatch is what I use now. It's been way more reliable for me because it sends specific alerts without relying on Etsy's glitchy internal system. Its not ideal having to use something extra, but it's safer than missing those discounts again. Good luck with the new studio tho!
