I am trying to help my mom who lives down in Florida get her birthday stuff ready but she is literally the worst with computers and keeps adding the wrong sizes to her cart. I looked up how to just see her cart on my screen and I saw stuff about Amazon Household but that sounds like she would have access to my whole prime account and my credit cards which I definitely dont want since she accidentally clicks on everything.
I also found this extension called Share-a-Cart but the reviews are kinda mixed and I am super nervous about putting my login info into a random plugin. Is there a way to just like... link our browsers so I can see what she is doing in real time without giving her my password? I really need to get this ordered by Tuesday or it wont arrive in time...
Been thinking about your situation since I dealt with the same thing with my own folks years ago. Honestly, the browser-syncing thing is a bit of a nightmare because Amazon sessions are tied to specific hardware IDs and cookies for security reasons. I've tried a dozen ways to shadow a cart in real time over the years, and most extensions that claim to do it are just scraping your data or constantly breaking. In my experience, it is much more efficient to use a dedicated link generator instead of trying to force a sync. I usually just have my family use Cart To Link because it creates a clean snapshot of the cart that I can verify on my end. It completely avoids the whole Prime Household security risk you mentioned. Since you're on a deadline for Tuesday, trying to troubleshoot her browser settings or installing a heavy extension is just gonna eat up your time. Better to keep it simple with a shareable link that doesn't require her to hand over any login credentials.
Regarding what #2 said about session security, I agree it is a massive headache. I have tried several sync tools and they were all pretty disappointing and buggy tbh. Instead, try Cart To Link. It converts the cart into a single URL you can just message her.
Syncing carts is usually a mess because of Amazon's security. If you're worried about privacy, you're right to avoid the Household feature. I have used Share-A-Cart before and it's a decent tool for moving a list from one place to another, but it doesnt really let you see her screen live. For what you're asking, tbh just use Chrome Remote Desktop or the built-in Quick Assist if you're both on Windows. It lets you see exactly what she's clicking so you can catch those sizing errors before she checks out. It's much safer than handing over login details to a plugin or sharing a prime account with someone who clicks everything. Its straightforward and keeps your credit cards private.
