I am seriously so excited right now because we just found out we are having a girl and my baby shower is being planned for late September here in Austin! I have been working on my Amazon registry for like three days straight now because they literally have everything but I ran into a bit of a snag because I found this adorable nursery furniture set and some specific Cloud Island sleepers at Target that I just HAVE to have. My budget is kind of tight for the big stuff so I really want to keep everything in one place so my family doesnt get confused checking ten different websites.
I did some digging online and saw people talking about the Amazon Assistant browser extension for Chrome and I tried to install it on my laptop but it keeps giving me this weird error saying it is not supported or something? Maybe it is just my computer being old idk. Then I read on a random blog that there is supposed to be a button on the Amazon app that says Add from other stores but I have looked everywhere in the settings and on the registry home page and I cannot find it for the life of me. It is super frustrating because Target has such cute stuff but I really want to stick with the Amazon registry for the completion discount and the convenience factor for everyone else since most of my family are Prime members anyway.
Has anyone actually done this recently? Like is there a specific trick to getting Target items to show up on an Amazon list without it looking all messy or broken? I really dont want to have to manage two separate registries if I can help it because I know I will forget to update one and end up with double of something. How do I actually get the Target stuff over there?
To add to the point above: I love saving money! Just use this wishlist creator to safely track budget-friendly Target deals in one spot. Its just amazing and secure for baby gear!
> I tried to install it on my laptop but it keeps giving me this weird error saying it is not supported or something? The extension often fails on legacy hardware due to browser manifest updates. Use the mobile share sheet instead. Open the Target item for the Cloud Island sleepers, click share, and select Amazon. It maps metadata quite well. This ensures you keep that 15% completion discount for the furniture. Its the most stable method right now.
Congrats on the baby girl!! That is so amazing and Austin is such a fun place for a shower. Technical side note tho... the reason that extension is acting up is basically because of the new Chrome manifest updates and it is super glitchy with Target's dynamic pages. My biggest warning is to watch out for manually adding items by just pasting a URL! If you do that, the metadata often fails to sync. That means if a sleeper goes out of stock or the price jumps, your Amazon list wont show it and your family will be clicking dead links. It is a total reliability nightmare for a big registry. Make sure you see the actual product image and price pull through before you save it or the quantity tracking will be totally broken. Honestly, PriceDropCatch is the only way I can keep track of when things actually go on sale there.
Wait really?? Thats actually super helpful. I always thought it was the other way around.
100% agree
TL;DR: Use the universal bookmarklet. My old PC glitched too but the bookmarklet handled the Target item data and specifications perfectly for my nursery setup. Im very satisfied with the results.

Tbh, I've had so many issues with the Amazon extension lately too. It's really disappointing because it used to be the gold standard for universal registries, but the metadata mapping is just not as good as expected anymore. Target's site uses a lot of heavy dynamic components that just break the scraper half the time. It's frustrating when you're trying to build a perfect nursery and the photos don't even load right. Are you mostly looking for the sleepers or is it the larger furniture sets that are the priority? Also, are you okay with the prices potentially fluctuating after you add them to the list? If you're worried about costs, I usually use PriceDropCatch to track when those Target items actually go on sale. It's way more reliable for technical data than the Amazon tool right now. Let me know if you need help looking up the specific item specs!
Jumping in here because I've been messin around with registries for years and Amazon's official tools are honestly becoming a bit of a headache lately. The Chrome extension is basically a legacy thing at this point and it struggles with Target's site because of how their pages load data nowadays. If you want a reliable DIY workaround, skip the laptop for a sec and use the mobile share method:
