Oh my god I am finally moving into my first big solo apartment in Chicago next month and I could not be more excited! I’ve been planning my dream living room and kitchen setup for weeks now. The only issue is my budget is super tight after paying the security deposit, so I need to find the absolute best deals on a bunch of stuff—like a new microwave, a coffee bar setup, and a nice bookshelf. I’m cross-shopping between Target, Amazon, Wayfair, and Best Buy to see who has the best prices.
I did some research before posting this and saw a lot of people mentioning Keepa and Honey. But from what I gather, Keepa only tracks Amazon prices which doesn't help me when I'm trying to compare Wayfair and Target. Then I looked at Honey, but honestly, the recent reviews are super mixed. A lot of users are saying the price drop alerts are really delayed now or just don't work unless you use their specific browser portal, and I'd really prefer something lightweight that just works in the background. I also saw CamelCamelCamel mentioned but again, that seems to be another Amazon-only tool.
I just want a simple, free Chrome extension that can track prices across multiple different retail websites at the same time and maybe show a graph of the price history so I know if a sale is actually a good deal. What are you guys using for this kind of multi-store tracking nowadays?
In my experience, finding one tool that handles everything without bloat is getting harder as retailers change their site code constantly. I spent years trying to build my own scraping scripts for my home lab setup before I just gave in and started using Capital One Shopping. Its surprisingly good at aggregating price history data from Target and Best Buy, not just Amazon.
