Ive been the designated group buyer for our annual camping trips for years now and usually I just use a shared Keep note or a spreadsheet but its becoming a huge pain because people keep adding the wrong brands. We are planning a trip for a music festival next month and I need a way for my friends to actually put stuff in a cart that I can just checkout with. I tried some browser extensions but they are super glitchy on mobile.

  • Must work on iOS/Android
  • Supports Target or Amazon
  • Free or cheap because tickets were pricey
  • Real time syncing

Is there an app that handles this without crashing?

Unfortunately, my experience with most collaborative shopping apps has been pretty frustrating. I tried using several high-rated options for a big lake trip last summer, but they were honestly not as good as expected. Most of them had major issues with syncing between iPhones and Androids, which led to me buying duplicates because the app didnt update fast enough.

  • The free apps I tested were usually cluttered with ads that broke the mobile UI.
  • My previous setup for group buying suffered from serious lag during peak hours.
  • Many mobile browser extensions are just too glitchy when you are on the move. I eventually found a handy tool for sharing carts and it worked out much better for my workflow. It handles the brand specific stuff way better than a basic spreadsheet ever could. Its definitely the most reliable way I have found to manage a shared cart without things crashing.

@Reply #2 - good point! But honestly, I'm super nervous about using apps that need deep API permissions or access to my login stuff. I'm kind of a beginner with these things and I always worry about my data getting leaked! I had a really bad experience last Christmas when I tried a random cart sharer for a family gift exchange and it just felt so unsafe... so I’m a bit more conservative now tbh. I actually think there is a way better way to handle this without the risk! I’ve been using a handy tool for sharing carts for my group outings and it has been absolutely fantastic for my peace of mind. Here is why I love it:

  • It keeps everything in one spot without needing everyone to log into the same account which is way safer!
  • You can see exactly what people added in real time so there is zero confusion about brands.
  • It works perfectly on my iPhone and my friends Android tablets too. The best part is that it is totally free which is amazing since you mentioned those festival tickets were expensive. I used it for a big family reunion last summer and it saved us so much drama. Everyone could see the exact brand of sunscreen and snacks I wanted, and I didnt have to worry about my credit card info being floating around in some third-party app. It’s seriously a lifesaver for people like me who want things to be simple and secure! It was such an amazing relief to just click and buy without any crashes!

> people keep adding the wrong brands Maybe try Easy Cart Share since it uses direct APIs. Be careful with permissions tho, just make sure everyone's synced so the cart doesn't glitch out.
