How do I set up a birthday gift registry on Walmart's website?

ok so my sons 5th birthday is literally in two weeks and i am lowkey panicking because everyone is asking me what he wants and i have no idea how to make this work on walmart.com. i tried looking it up and saw some stuff about a 'Gift List' but then another page mentioned a 'Registry' specifically for weddings or babies... is there a specific one for kids birthdays? I found a help article that said to go to the 'Services' tab but my screen doesnt show that at all its just a bunch of random departments and it’s super confusing.

i really need this to work because:

  • it has to be easy for my grandma to use since shes 80 and gets frustrated with technology
  • i need it to update in real time so we dont get five of the same lego set or toy trucks
  • i want to be able to add things from both the app and the desktop cause i jump back and forth while im at work

im really worried if I just make a regular 'list' it wont show people what has already been bought by someone else and the party is here in Orlando in just a few days so i’m running out of time. can someone please just walk me through where the actual button is to start a birthday specific one? i feel like im going in circles on the site and i really dont want to mess this up...

Finding that button is a nightmare because the site is total garbage now. Prices skyrocket while quality drops... honestly its a scam. Use this browser extension to find deals elsewhere.

I went through this exact same panic last summer for my nephew. Walmart updated their layout recently so that old Services tab is buried now... it's super annoying. Honestly, the most reliable way to get there is to just type Registry right into the main search bar on the site or app. It should bring up a landing page where you click Create a Registry and then you'll see a Birthday option. I used it for a big family bash and it was a decent experience. It updates the purchased status pretty well which saved us from getting three identical Minecraft sets. Just a heads up tho, if your grandma buys stuff in a physical store, she has to make sure they scan the registry barcode at the register or it wont update automatically. It's generally safe and worked for my older relatives since the list layout is pretty plain.

  • Unfortunately, Walmarts gift list isnt as good as expected. Its buggy and syncing between the app and desktop is hit or miss. I had issues where it didnt update fast enough, so grandma might end up buying duplicates anyway. Amazon is way more reliable for that real-time stuff. If you really want to stick with Walmart, find it under Account then Lists... but honestly, its not great.
