I need to send my Amazon cart to my dad for my sisters birthday this Friday but I cant find a simple way. I saw Share-A-Cart but the reviews are sketchy and Amazon Household is way too messy for this.

  • must be free
  • simple for my dad
  • no account setup

Is there a tool for this or a way to just get a link?

> I saw Share-A-Cart but the reviews are sketchy Honestly, Ive used Share-A-Cart for a while now and I am very satisfied. Its completely free and I have had no complaints regarding safety or reliability. It works well for my parents since they dont need to make an account or anything. Definitely the best way to save money and stay organized without the mess.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I actually have to disagree about using extensions. My dad is the same way and usually gets frustrated when I ask him to install plugins or extra software just to buy a gift. I’ve been really satisfied with using Amazon Wish Lists for this because it’s native and costs nothing at all. It is more methodical and less prone to errors than third-party extensions. Here is how I usually handle it:

  • move your cart items to a new list
  • set list access to shared
  • send him the direct link He can just click one button to add everything to his cart on his end. It’s simple and doesn't require him to trust a random app with his data or struggle with installs. TL;DR: Stick to a native Wish List. It’s free, simple for parents, and requires zero extra account setup or software for him.

Whoa, I literally just went through this exact same headache last month trying to buy a bunch of PC parts for my brothers build! I tried a bunch of different methods because I am super picky about how my carts are organized and I hate how Amazon makes this so difficult. Basically, the technical reason there is no simple link is that Amazon stores your cart items in your local browser cookies or directly on their server tied to your specific ID. When you log out or switch devices, it doesnt just stay as a public URL for security reasons. It is such a pain!! I have used a few scripts for this before but honestly they are overkill for most people. I love finding workarounds tho! Is your dad planning to buy these on his phone or is he on a desktop computer? That makes a massive difference in which tools actually work without breaking. Also, are you dealing with just a couple of items or like a massive list of 20+ things? If it is just a few things, I might have a different trick for you that doesnt even need an extension. Just want to see what kind of technical level he can handle before I dive deeper into the alternatives!

Like someone mentioned, the choice usually sits between those third-party extensions or just messing around with lists, but honestly it drives me crazy that we even have to have this debate! It is such a joke. Amazon is a literal titan of industry and they still cant give us a simple share button for a cart? Honestly its ridiculous. I was trying to coordinate a surprise party for my best friend last month and it was a total nightmare trying to get her husband the right links. It is so amazing how they can suggest products I thought about for two seconds but cant make a functional sharing feature. It feels like such a scam that the site gets more cluttered with ads every day while basic utility just goes downhill. I love the fast shipping but the UI is a mess and the quality of the shopping experience is just tanking! Why is it so hard for them to just be helpful?? It is absolutely wild that we have to jump through these hoops just to buy a birthday gift!!
