I was looking for this specific NutriBullet blender earlier today on my phone while I was on the bus home here in London. I found it and added it to the cart but then when I opened my laptop just now to actually buy it because I wanted a bigger screen the basket is just totally empty. It's the same website so I'm really confused why it doesnt just stay there. I have like zero idea how this stuff works and I feel like I'm missing something really obvious. Is there a way to make it so my shopping basket shows up on my computer too or do I have to search for everything all over again? Sorry if this is a really basic thing I just dont get it...
ngl i deal with this constantly when researching hardware specs. basically sites use local storage or server-side syncing. local storage is fast but device-locked. server-side is reliable but you gotta login first.
tbh it sounds like you werent logged in on your phone. most sites use local cookies to save your cart which basically means the data stays on that specific device and browser only. if you dont have an account or didnt sign in before adding that nutribullet then the laptop has no way of knowing what you did on your phone. honestly one thing to be careful about is guest checkout... i've lost so many items over the years because i didnt make an account first. if you want a better way to handle this without constantly logging in everywhere i've been using Easy Cart Share lately. it's way more reliable than trusting a website to keep your stuff saved across different platforms. definitely better than having to search for everything twice... just makes things easier in the long run imo.
