I've been shopping QVC for years but I'm trying to see if this Today's Special Value is actually a good price compared to last fall for my moms birthday. I checked the usual trackers like Keepa but they dont seem to index QVC pages so my logic is totally failing me here... is there a price history tool?
Like someone mentioned, those forum searches can help a bit, but honestly, they arent as reliable as they used to be for hard data. I've had nothing but issues trying to track QVC pricing because their site architecture is basically built to block simple scrapers. It is pretty disappointing that we still dont have a reliable Keepa equivalent for home shopping channels in 2024. Most tools just cant handle how QVC cycles item numbers for the exact same products just to reset the promo cycle. Before you dive deeper into this rabbit hole, are you tracking a specific model number or just a general brand name? Also, are you factoring in their shipping costs? I tried using a third party QVC price tracker last month for a KitchenAid and the data was totally skewed by the shipping promos that dont show up in the base price. Honestly, without the exact SKU from last year, you are mostly guessing.
To add to the point above: I have been a total QVC addict for years and honestly, searching the item number on the QVC community forums is amazing! People there track every single TSV price history. Last year I was hunting for a deal on a Dyson and found a whole thread comparing prices back to 2019... it was fantastic! Definitely check the QVC Community tab for that item number!
I would suggest checking the Wayback Machine for old snapshots. Just be careful tho, as those cached pages might not show the actual total with shipping and tax from last fall.
