Top-rated Chrome extensions for finding Amazon deals in 2024?

So I'm trying to get my daughter a specific Lego set for her birthday next month and my budget is pretty tight right now like maybe $50 max. I noticed the prices on Amazon are always changing and it makes no sense to me. My friend mentioned I should get a Chrome extension but I honestly don't even know what that really means or where you go to get them. Is it like an app for your computer or something else? I was thinking maybe there's something that just tells me when the price drops so I don't have to keep refreshing the page every hour.

I saw some names like CamelCamelCamel and Honey but then I got worried that they might steal my credit card info or something since I'm not good with tech stuff at all. My logic was that if I install one it would just pop up and say 'hey this is cheaper now' but I'm stuck on which one is actually the best one to use right now in 2024. Sorry if this is a dumb question I just really don't want to overpay for this gift. Are there specific ones that people trust the most or are they all basically the same thing? I just want something simple that works for someone who doesnt really get how browsers work...

Safety is a major priority when youre looking for deals. Some extensions can track your data or slow your browser, so its important to stay cautious.

  • Verify the developer name in the store
  • Limit the permissions you grant Which Lego set are you actually looking for? Using this tool for price alerts is a good start, but knowing the specific item helps determine if a price drop is even likely soon.

Man, I feel your pain with the Lego price jumps. Honestly, I’ve been pretty let down by the big names lately. I used to swear by CamelCamelCamel, but its been so laggy recently and half the time the price alerts hit my inbox way after the deal is already gone. It's super frustrating when you're trying to stick to a tight budget and the price shoots up as soon as you find what you need. Honey is another one people suggest, but it feels so bloated now... all those constant popups for rewards just get in the way. It actually felt like it was slowing down my whole browser. These are basically just small tools for your browser that watch the product page for you. They don't usually steal credit cards, but they do track your shopping habits, which is kinda disappointing. Honestly, I've been using PriceDropCatch to track deals lately and it's saved me a ton on tech gear.
