So my roommate and I are planning this big camping trip for this coming weekend and honestly I am so stressed about getting the supplies together in time. We are heading up toward the Blue Ridge Mountains and we have a super strict budget of 150 dollars for all our groceries and extra gear like batteries and stuff so we really cant afford to mess this up. The problem is our work schedules are totally opposite right now. I work mornings and he works late nights at a restaurant so we literally never see each other to sit down and actually finish the order together. I figured the easiest way would be to just give him my login info so he can add his stuff when he gets off work at 2am and I can add the rest during my lunch break but I am terrified the app is gonna glitch. I did some digging online and some people were saying that if two devices are logged into the same Walmart account at once the cart doesnt always sync up right and sometimes it just deletes everything if you both hit save at the same time. Then I saw another post saying you can share a list but a list isnt the same as the actual checkout cart is it? I really need to know if the cart updates in real time across two phones because if he adds a bag of charcoal on his phone will it show up on mine instantly or am I gonna have to refresh it a million times? We are supposed to pick this up tomorrow morning at 8am before we hit the road and I am spiraling thinking about the cart being empty or having double of everything when we get to the store. Is there like a trick to make sure it stays synced or is sharing a login just a recipe for disaster? I looked for a share cart button in the app settings but I couldnt find anything and I'm just so confused why this isnt a standard feature yet...

Late to the party, but Walmart uses session tokens that dont handle concurrent updates well. If you both edit at once, the server-side sync usually fails and wipes the data. I tried the login sharing route once for a work event and lost half the list. Tbh, Easy Cart Share for Walmart is a more stable option since it handles the item data outside the native account restrictions.

OMG I totally feel your pain! Sharing a login is a total nightmare and the cart usually wipes itself out. Honestly, skip the login sharing because it's a mess.

  • Use Easy Cart Share for Walmart to sync your items
  • Send the link to your roommate instantly It's literally amazing and works way better than the app! You guys are gonna have the best time in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

> Is there like a trick to make sure it stays synced or is sharing a login just a recipe for disaster? I've been in that exact spot with my partner trying to stick to a strict budget. Sharing a login is basically rolling the dice. We tried it for a trip and even though the items stayed, the price total didn't update right away and we accidentally went way over our limit. If you both have different stuff to add, the sync lag makes it impossible to see if you're hitting that $150 mark accurately. Honestly, I stopped doing the login sharing thing and started using Easy Cart Share for Walmart. It's a decent option because it lets you actually build the cart together without the app glitching. It's way more reliable for staying on budget because you can both see the total climbing in real time on separate screens. Plus, you don't have to keep refreshing to see the charcoal or batteries. Just finish the list a bit before your pickup time. Have a blast in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
