Does the Walmart shared cart feature work on the mobile app?

I'm so stoked because me and my roommate are finally prepping for our big move to Phoenix next week and we have like a $300 budget for all the kitchen stuff we need! So I was thinking it would be way easier if we could just both add stuff to the same Walmart cart on our phones while we're out.

I did some digging and saw a couple old posts saying you have to use a computer for shared lists or whatever but then another site said there was a collab feature now. My logic was it should just be a button in the app right? But I've been tapping everywhere and I cant find a way to invite him to my cart... does the mobile app actually support this yet or is it still a desktop only thing?

Honestly, there is no dedicated button for this in the app yet. I have been using a specific method for my household needs for a while now and I am quite satisfied with how it functions. I found that sharing credentials is the most reliable path for collaborative shopping.

  • We utilize one login across multiple devices simultaneously.
  • Synchronization of the cart items is almost instantaneous.
  • Security is maintained by using a unique password for this specific account. It has been a very stable experience for my current setup. My partner and I managed our entire kitchen gear purchase this way and had no complaints. It ensures that the budget is tracked in one place. Just make sure you are both comfortable sharing the login information for that profile. It works well for coordinating orders without losing track of things... feels safer than relying on buggy collab links.

To add to the point above: you're definitely not missing anything obvious, the app just doesn't have that invite button we all wish it did. I went through this exact same thing when I was getting my kitchen sorted out last year. I spent forever hunting through the settings because I was so sure a big company like Walmart would have it... ngl I was pretty annoyed at first. Basically, the app is great for solo shopping but it is still lagging for teams. I ended up finding Easy Cart Share for Walmart and it honestly made the whole process way smoother. My setup now works so well that I have zero complaints about how we handle the shared grocery runs. It makes staying under budget so much easier when you can both see the total climbing in real-time. Moving is stressful enough, so finding a solid workaround like that was a huge relief for us. Good luck with Phoenix!
