honestly so fed up with walmarts app right now. im trying to move like 40 items to my husbands account for a big grocery pickup tomorrow morning and theres no way to just sync them? i need to:

  • do it in under 10 minutes
  • keep the exact brands
  • not re-search everything

is there a trick or a chrome extension for this? im losing my mind here...

Dealing with the Walmart cart sync issue is a total headache, but after managing dozens of bulk grocery runs for my family, I have found two methods you might want to consider. Each has its own risks so you should probably move quickly.

  • Shared Lists: You can move everything from your cart to a custom list and share that link via email. It is the most stable way and keeps your exact brands, though you still have to hit add all on his end.
  • Share-A-Cart extension: This is basically the fastest way to generate a cart code for your husband to paste. It is incredibly efficient for 40 items, but be careful because it sometimes struggles with store-specific inventory if your accounts arent set to the exact same location. I would suggest using the list method to stay safe, just make sure to double check the quantities before checking out because they sometimes reset during the transfer... it is super frustrating when that happens.

Late to the party but i gotta disagree with the extension route. Honestly those things can be super glitchy and i dont really trust them with my login info most of the time... To add to the point above: i just stick with the official features. Ive been really satisfied with the paid membership route. Just get any of the Walmart premium plans and it makes life way easier. It works well for us because we just share the login across our phones and everything stays perfectly in sync without any extra steps. No complaints about the price either since the delivery perks and gas discounts pay for the whole thing pretty fast. If you go that route you dont need to search for items again or mess with third party tools that might break. Basically just stick with the main brand services and youll be much happier.

basically i just use the Walmart Cart Share extension for this. tried it yesterday and was satisfied with how it keeps the brands exact without any effort tbh.

Late to the party but I had a similar nightmare last Thanksgiving trying to move a huge list to my sister. I spent way too much time weighing the options because I am usually pretty paranoid about security and getting the wrong brands.

  • Share-A-Cart: This one is probably the most reliable extension I have seen for this. It generates a code so you dont have to stay logged in on both ends at the same time. Fast, but some people hate installing extra stuff in their browser.
  • The Native List Method: I tried this first. It is the safest way since it is built-in and you dont give data to anyone else. Problem is, if an item goes out of stock while you are sharing the list, it sometimes just disappears or swaps brands without telling you... super annoying. I ended up using this tool just to save time because 40 items is a lot to double check. It worked fine but I uninstalled it right after because I am just like that... cautious about my account info. If you are in a rush, the extension is the only way to hit that 10 minute goal tho.

Ive been dealing with these browser cart issues for years now and honestly you have to be careful with any automated solution because Walmart updates their backend without notice. If youre going the DIY route here are a few methods i have tried:

  • Manual URL scraping: You can try to grab the item IDs from the page source and string them together into a custom link. Pros: No third party access to your data. Cons: Its incredibly tedious and usually ends up breaking the session if you have more than 10 items.
  • Browser console scripts: Writing a quick script to pull links. Its precise but if you mess up even one line of code the whole cart might clear out on you which is a huge risk when you are in a rush. I actually stopped doing these massive grocery runs lately after my local store started messing up my produce orders every single time. One time I ordered five organic apples and they gave me five individual bags of gala apples instead... spent way too much time on the phone with customer support that day just to get a refund. It seems like their inventory system just cant handle certain regions well lately. Anyway but yeah... I've been using Cart To Link to send my PC builds to friends and it's super straightforward to use.
